Storm media: CD Replication and Printing Services
CD Replication is a complete CD disc manufacturing process whereby the disc is moulded and then stamped into the disc during the manufacturing process.
The manufacturing process can only begin once a glass master or stamper is made up, this first process of cd replication and is created from your original master CD disc that is supplied to is. Once the glass master is ready (This can take a couple of days) it is is then prepared and fitted into a specialised injection moulding machine, polycarbonate is then injected and pressed using the stamper that was created, this creates microscopic ‘pits’ and ‘lands’ (the basic code for the information contained on your disc) of the discs content. To finish it off an aluminium based reflective surface is then metallised onto the disc, before a second layer of polycarbonate is applied. Once the discs are finished in moulding, the unprinted CDs are then sent to the printing department for vibrant full colour printing.
We print our replicated CD using a five colour silk screen printer, an offset lithographic process or a digital UV print, thus resulting in a very high quality, retail ready printed disc. We will select which process is best suited for your order
Storm media make sure to use only 100% pure polycarbonate for the production of our replicated CDs, as a result we are able to offer you the best possible quality at an affordable price.
Disc Replication is an ideal process for music CDs, or big quantities of discs and the discs are similar to the cd's sold in all major retail stores accross South Africa.
